Delrin Door Bushings suits MX-5
Delrin Door Bushings
$ 59.00
Our door bushes are designed to improve chassis stiffness for all MX-5 models. Being a convertible, the chassis is naturally weak and prone to bending at the A and B pillars, as it lacks support from a traditional roof. The addition of stiffer door bushings increases the chassis rigidity while still allowing you to retain the convertible soft top.
Installing more rigid door bushings offers the most economical and easiest-to-install solution. They work by repositioning the doors to sit higher and support more lateral loads while cornering.
Chassis flex can lead to inconsistent handling, particularly when driving aggressively. Our door bushes address this issue by enhancing the dynamic behaviour of the MX-5, making the driving experience more predictable and intuitive. This modification significantly improves the car’s performance, ensuring a smoother and more controlled ride.
A side benefit is that it noticeably reduces door rattles, which are especially common in older-generation cars.
With discrete branding, preserving the aesthetics of the MX-5, these bushes were developed for seamless installation and require no modifications, such as sanding. The swap from the old to new door bushes can be completed in just 2-4 minutes.
