Requirements
Why replace it
The clutch master on an NA or NB MX-5 is now decades old. Seals wear, the bore weeps and the pedal goes soft or inconsistent. A new master brings back a consistent, responsive clutch pedal for the street or the track.
This is a direct OEM replacement. It bolts into the factory location and connects to the factory line and push rod, so there’s nothing to modify.
Geomet® coated body
The body is cast aluminium with a black Geomet® coating. Geomet® is a chromium-free coating that resists corrosion and heat, so it stays tidy in the engine bay.

Fitting
Remove the factory master cylinder, fit the new unit in the same location and reconnect the clutch line and push rod. Fill with fresh fluid and bleed the clutch system until the pedal is firm and consistent.
While the system is open, it’s a good time to fit a braided clutch line. It replaces the factory hard line and rubber hose with one line, so bleeding is quicker.
We recommend installation by a licensed mechanic.
