With roots tracing back to 1989, we’ve built our reputation on expertise in Japanese imports and wrecking, always focusing on reliable solutions that enhance performance while keeping everyday drivability in mind. As we retire the Holford Motors website in 2025 – with all links now redirecting here – this page consolidates our full history and ongoing commitment to the enthusiast community.

Our Foundations: Holford Motors Since 1989

Holford Motors was established in Melbourne, Australia, in 1989 as a specialist in Japanese vehicle imports and parts sourcing. Located at 100 New Street, South Kingsville, VIC 3015, we served individuals, small businesses, and larger enterprises with a range of services centered on Japanese models, including Nissan S-chassis (S13, S14, S15), Skyline R32/R33/R34, Subaru BRZ, and Toyota 86.

Key aspects of our early operations included:

• Importing and Sourcing: Bringing in vehicles, engines, half-cuts, and unique models like the Toyota iQ, often with custom modifications to meet Australian standards.
• Japanese Car Wrecking: Dismantling imported wrecks to salvage and supply high-quality used parts, ensuring affordability and authenticity for repairs and builds.
• Compliance and Support Services: Providing quarantine cleaning, roadworthy certificates (RWC) for light vehicles and motorbikes, and expert guidance on import regulations.
• Occasional Vehicle Sales: Offering select imported cars and motorbikes for sale, though we never maintained a full inventory – our emphasis was on parts and services.

With over 35 years of mechanical experience, our team prioritised honest, cooperative service, drawing on real-world knowledge to help customers avoid common pitfalls in imports and modifications. We stayed exclusively focused on Japanese vehicles, never deviating into other markets, and built strong ties in the automotive community through sponsorships of drift events and drivers like Luke Fink. Our involvement in drift racing, including testing with an S14 build, informed our approach to performance and reliability.

The Launch of HFM.Parts in 2012

In 2012, we expanded our expertise by launching HFM.Parts (standing for Holford Motors) as an in-house brand for performance components. This move was a direct evolution from our wrecking and importing background, allowing us to design and manufacture parts based on insights gained from years of hands-on work with Japanese sports cars.

We started with innovations in brake rotors and master & slave cylinders, addressing common needs for better stopping power and control without compromising comfort. Our product development has always been driven by rigorous testing – often in competitive environments like drift tracks – and a small, passionate team in Melbourne, including mechanics and engineers. This ensured our parts deliver enhanced performance for both track enthusiasts and daily drivers.

HFM.Parts grew through partnerships with distributors and a commitment to quality materials, fair pricing, and community feedback. We continued our wrecking and import services under the Holford Motors name while channeling performance passion into this new division.

We say goodbye to Holford Motors.

As of 2025, we’re streamlining our online presence by retiring the Holford Motors website and redirecting all traffic to HFM.Parts. This allows us to focus entirely on what we do best: providing performance parts that solve real problems for Japanese sports car owners. Our mission remains unchanged – better upgrades that boost reliability and enjoyment, backed by decades of specialised knowledge.
